A Rock Painters Life ... My Public Journal

Applewood Arts Show

Currently, I am creating a wealth of new rock paintings! Come see them before anyone else at my next show at the Applewood Arts show on Now.16-17! On   I-25 at Budweiser Event center in Loveland, CO. Over 120 artisans will be showing their holiday arts and crafts.

"Ram Horns" is a glimpse into what you'll see at the show.

"Falcon" was painted on back of a guitarone for someone fixing up the instrument to cover up a sealed hole.

I volunteered to run the gallery at Lincoln Gallery the other day during change over. I took down all the hanging art and hung the incoming. What an experience into the life of a gallery owner I got!

  4. Estes was fun. I love Estes park. It is at the foothills of Rocky Mt National Park. Elk are regularly roaming the streets. Now they are bugling. It is very artsy and very beautiful.People are friendly. The show was fun and eventful, the third day especially. The winds gusted heavily leaving everyone holding down their tents to the best of their ability. Vendors were taking down their tents as fast as they can while protecting their goods. I was trying to paint on my easle at the beginning of the gusts. What was I thinking?? There was one injury that I know of. Hopefully she is okay. Hopefully we can return next year. The gust are unusual to be this bad. I love Estes, and the show was a great experience. My son, my father and Erica were there with me. We camped. It was a great time together. As always thank you to them for doing this with me. Thank you to all who came, saw the show, and supported 'Lauries Rock Paintings'.

  5. Won 1st place in the mixed media category at the juried Fall Art Show at the Lincoln gallery. It's of a bald eagle. The juror said she liked how it looks like it is still in the tree, meaning how it is on the tree branch stand. It sold but is still on display there untill the end of the show, about a month. On 5th and Lincoln, Downtown Loveland.

  6. My uncle from out of town noticed some rock paintings on sandstone selling else where for atleast $1200. He said they had not nearly the detail. Makes me wonder the direction of business I should be going, or what mine is REALLY worth.
